Block Kids Building Contest - Please note new location               Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.                    Moline Public Library - 3210 41st Street, Moline, IL

The Block-Kids Building Program is a national building program competition that is co-sponsored locally by Chapter #50. This popular program introduces children to the construction industry in an effort to create an awareness of and to promote an interest in future careers in one of the many facets of the industry.

Participants receive 100 plastic, interlocking building blocks, a piece of string, a small rock and a piece of aluminum foil to create a building project in 30 minutes. They are encouraged to look for creative solutions to construction challenges.

The entrants will be judged by members of the Quad Cities building community, and prizes are awarded to the top six entrants. The project chosen by the judges as the most noteworthy will be entered in a regional contest.  Winners at the regional level will then be entered in a national contest.

The program is open to all elementary school children in grades 1-6.  Pre-registration is strongly recommended but if there are openings or cancellations registrations will be taken the morning of the event. There is no fee to register
